eHealthInsurance has announced it will partner with Steve Strauss, USA Today small business columnist, in its new effort for TheSelfEmployed.com, a healthcare business website designed to help people who are in business for themselves with all facets of business ownership. Aimed primarily at assisting self-employed individuals in seeking out the most suitable health insurance options to meet their needs, this new project will also be sponsored by a number of other business services-related companies, including Elance, Greatland and SCORE, America’s FREE small business counselors.
According to a recent eHealthInsurance statement, fewer Americans than ever before are insured through their employer. In particular, more than 14 million individuals currently claim to be self-employed. As a result, the demand for individually-purchased health insurance options has skyrocketed. Unfortunately, navigating the complexities that go along with this new territory can be overwhelming.
That’s where TheSelfEmployed.com comes in…
“With more workers buying health insurance on their own, without the benefit of an HR department holding their hand through…the process, eHealthInsurance has been looking for new ways to educate and inform self-employed professionals,” said Brian Mast, the company’s vice president. “We’re excited to join (Steve Strauss) in developing a relevant and engaging resource like TheSelfEmployed.com for professionals to use every day.”
