In a long overdue demonstration of what is possible when the fighting stops and bi-partisanship prevails, the House of Representatives passed the JOBS (Jumpstart Our Business Startups) Act by an overwhelming majority of 390 to 23 late last week. Aimed at helping young and struggling small businesses in particular, the bill would exempt them from cumbersome regulations, relax certain rules that may prohibit their access to funding and enhance their access to capital.
A Senate version of the bill is anticipated to be released this week. A number of Senate leaders have stated that they expect final legislation to pass before the end of the month.
