May Events in Nation’s Capital Cast Spotlight on America’s Small Businesses

Two events in the upcoming month of May will focus national attention on America’s small businesses―one primarily in recognition of all that small businesses do to bolster our economic stability and the other to foster the ability of entrepreneurs to make their voices heard in Washington.  Registration to attend all or any portion of these events is currently open to the general public.

National Small Business Week 2011

May 16 through May 20, 2011 has been proclaimed National Small Business Week by the President.  It’s a time to recognize the contributions of the estimated 27.2 million small businesses in America and the critical role they play in sustaining our nation’s economic well-being.  Sponsored by the U.S. Small Business Administration and co-sponsored by such outstanding organizations as SCORE (Counselors to America’s Small Business), Sam’s Club, VISA and AT&T, among others, the week is filled with events, forums, guest speaker presentations, awards ceremonies and networking opportunities that will inform and inspire any entrepreneur.

Events are being held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Conference Center in Washington, D.C.  A five-star property deemed to be among the top hotels in the world, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel is offering reduced double-occupancy rates for conference attendees.  Given its close proximity to the National Mall, Monuments and Capital, the Mandarin is the perfect hub for small business or franchise owners to not only attend key Small Business Week events, but to sightsee and enjoy everything that Washington has to offer.  Why not register today?
