2012 Elections Guide for Small Business Voters Available Now!

As the countdown to the national election on November 6 winds down, many home-based and other small business opportunity and franchise owners are just as confused as the rest of us when it comes to making sense of all the political rhetoric. That’s why the National Small Business Association (NSBA) released its non-partisan Elections Guide for small business voters yesterday.

The guide is designed specifically for small business owners, no matter what their party affiliation, who are looking to find some clarity when it comes to where the candidates stand on the issues that affect them the most. It comprises three important checklists:

1. The Candidate Checklist—a list of the top issues that affect small business owners and whether or not the NSBA supports or opposes those issues, so that small business voters can determine for themselves whether or not their candidate truly is in their corner

2. The Voting Checklist—lists the most important small-business votes held by Congress over the last two years that were supported or opposed by NSBA, including links to each one for clarity on how various lawmakers voted

3. The Legislative Checklist—comprehensive list of bills put forth over the past two years and where NSBA stood on each one, plus links to each bill so voters can know whether their lawmaker sponsored or cosponsored any of them.

In an election year when the stakes are so high and the probable outcome uncertain, knowing what the issues are and how they affect you and your small business has never been greater. There is no doubt that every vote will count. Moreover, perhaps at no time in recent history have the wants and needs of small business owners been at the epicenter of so much debate as they have been this election season.

Making the right decisions means becoming informed about the issues that affect you the most. As a business opportunity, franchise or other small business owner, NSBA’s Elections Guide is a great place to start.
