Last week I found myself in a discussion with a group of entrepreneurs whom were all between the ages of 55 and 67. Other than the fact that we were all able to get a nice discount at the movie theater, we were all either currently building a business from a home office or looking for a new venture that could be launched from home. Starting a business no longer requires a brick and mortar office or storefront, and more than half of all U.S. businesses are based out of an owner’s home.
Fact is people over the age of 50 make up the fastest growing group of entrepreneurs. There are actually more entrepreneurs between the ages of 50 and 65 than there are between the ages of 20 and 34. Seniorpreneurs are considered by many experts and researchers as the next boom. This fact reflects the current employment trends for Baby Boomers such as working longer, either because they want to or they have to due to downsizing or personal finances. What are you going to do when you retire? Millions of boomers ask themselves that question every day and the answer is often “start their own businesses.” Making a difference is the driving factor for many seniorpreneurs, however, after years of working for others another benefit is to be their own boss and set their own schedules.
On a personal note, I have not endured a rush hour commute since 1987 (smile), and have built several local and national businesses from the comfort of my home office. I am also a lifelong learner and have self-taught myself everything from magazine publishing to streaming media and online marketing as well as every aspect of being a successful business owner. Helping entrepreneurs to succeed has been an integral part of my career and a lifelong passion.
Recently my company Serving Seniors launched a unique program that I am very excited to share. We train entrepreneurs, retired boomers, former caregivers and passionate senior advocates how to successfully build and operate a Senior Resource and Referral Network that can create real income. Senior Resource and Referral Networks satisfy a need for connecting seniors, boomers and family caregivers to qualified and verified industry providers in more than 60 product and service categories spanning a myriad of the health, home, financial, legal and aging issuing facing seniors and boomers today. After years of managing the largest national network of eldercare resource sites in North America and assisting countless seniors and overwhelmed family caregivers to locate trusted providers, we saw the magnitude and urgency of the problem first hand.
We All Want To Work With People We Can Trust!
Senior Resource and Referral Networks are engaged in the local marketplace and bring added value to the senior community. There are many advantages associated with starting a Senior Resource and Referral Network; one of the best parts is the ability to work from home and enjoy flexible hours. A Senior Resource and Referral Network can be worked full-time, part-time, spare time or as an added revenue stream for another business. It’s a perfect opportunity for individuals seeking to engage the exploding senior services market without all the headaches. Serving Seniors gives individuals all the tools they need, making it more affordable and less risky than starting from scratch.
“We are coming into a senior population explosion that is unprecedented in history. We will need an army of educated and compassionate advocates to assist them with dignity and integrity. Serving Seniors is beginning to train and empower this army.” – Steven Bailey Founder/CEO
This comprehensive training program covers: Set-up and Organization, Building Your Provider Network, Negotiating Referral Fees, Our 2-Step Screening Process, Networking Strategies, Marketing and Presentation Tools, including a Professionally Designed Website, Plus Coaching and all the Forms and Agreements to get you started FAST!
